Invigilation tools for SEB verification
Background and usageÂ
In order to verify the validity of the SEB versions for MAC and Windows installed on the clients, Inspera has developed a script for Windows and an application for MAC for this.
Using it during the exam, you simply insert the USB flash drive into the candidates computer and run the two applications.
For Windows, double click on the seb_detect_win.bat file, a console window will appear and you will see if the SEB version installed is valid or not.
For MAC, double click on AppDetector and click on the Check SEB button to check for SEB versions installed. The "Check Prohibited Apps" button checks for VM processes on the computer.
Write protection and preparing the USB flash drive
It is important to have a write protected USB flash drive before using it on BYOD laptops, as it can be infected by malware etc and this could be copied to the next computer.
The recommended way is to use a hardware write-protected USB flash drive.Â
Kanguru Flashtrust is one recommendation.
A couple of places have Kanguru Flashtust flash drives:Â
