How-To assign candidates to a test |
This article explains assigning candidates to Inspera Assessment tests. For tests synchronised with FS, Ladok or other external systems, the candidates are automatically imported from the student administration system |
This article will no longer be updated. The article is a part of a new article which is available at support.inspera.com. Norwegian: Lag en Inspera Assessment-prøve English: Create an Inspera Assessment test |
The purpose of assigning candidates is to link the students to the exam so that they are able to take the exam and so that they can be graded afterwards. The process also includes generating usernames and passwords for all (non-SSO) students that are going to take the exam.
There are three Candidate types in Inspera Assessment. Below you will find how-tos for assigning the different candidate types to an exam.
To add candidates, open the test in the Deliver tool, and click Manage next to candidates
From the candidate page, select Add and choose One-time users:
If you want to specify an actual candidate ID, type it directly in the field Candidate ID and click the add icon (). Alternatively, click auto-generate candidates and enter the number of candidates to be added.
When using the auto-generate function, you simply decide the number of candidates by typing the number or using the arrows. Then click Generate candidates:
The Candidate ID can be changed. If some of the candidates are granted extra time, add this for each candidate in the Extra time (minutes) column. Finally, click Save to generate the candidates:
The candidates are now generated for the exam. Click Done to go back to the test setup
The usernames and passwords for the candidates are generated when the test is activated. Click Candidate login details to print the login details, or to download them as CSV. This will include the SEB password (if applicable).
Show as list will show the login credentials in a new tab in the browser.
The CSV-file should contain two types of information on the candidates:
The extra time is added after the candidate ID, separated by a comma: |
1. From the test setup, choose Manage
2. The candidat list opens. In the top right corner, select Add
3. Select One-time users from the drop down menu:
4. Select Import from file (.csv)
5. Then, Click here to select file:
6. Choose the .csv-file to be used from your files:
7. The candidates from the .csv-file are displayed. When relevant, extra time is displayed in the column Extra time. Press save to upload the candidates to the test.
The candidates are then added to the candidate list.
10. Finish by clicking Done in the top right corner:
11. The test setup is updated with the candidates. You will see all candidates to take the test (4) and how many of these have extra time (1). Add or remove candidates by clicking Manage.
This is done by uploading a .csv file. Click Add, and select CSV Import (SSO)
In the pop-up window, first select authentication type. This will be the SSO provider you use. Then Click here to select file
The .csv-file will then be uploaded.
The candidates log in with their Feide username and password.
The CSV file should include the candidate ID in column one, and in column two: feideusername@the institution´s feide realm. Extra time (in minutes) can be added in column three. |
On the Candidate Page Select Add and choose Permanent users.
In the pop-up window, all existing permanent users are listed. Check the ones to be added as candidates to the test, and cilck Add.
It is possible to add more permanent users by importing a csv-file. Click on the link Import from CSV, find the file you want to import and click Open
The file will then import users automatically, and the system will show a status report on the import
The candidates are now assigned to the test:
Click Close to go back to the test setup
The usernames and passwords for the candidates are generated when the test is activated. Click Candidate login details to print the login details, or to download them as CSV. This will include the SEB password (if applicable).
Show as list will show the login credentials in a new tab in the browser.
